Privacy Policy for SODIrace
The Privacy Policy consists of eight parts:
INTRODUCTION:
The purpose of this privacy policy is to make clear our policies regarding your data. We value your privacy and want to protect your data as much as possible while still providing the necessary services. We hope that this policy is informative and easy to understand.INFORMATION WE COLLECT AND HOW WE USE AND SHARE IT:
Email:
We collect your email during sign up. Your email is used as a unique identifier, as well as a way to contact you. You can view and edit your email on your athlete page. When you edit your email, we delete your previous email. We cannot undo any change to your email. We do not share your email with third parties or other SODIrace users.
We will use your email during password reset. We may also email you with safety notices, updates to this agreement, or other important information. We respect your time and will not spam you.
Name, Date of Birth, Gender, and Zip Code:
We collect your name, date of birth, gender, and zip code during sign up. Your name is used to identify you to other SODIrace users. Your date of birth and gender are used to place you into accurate divisions and determine whether you qualify for silver, white, or pink Jerseys. Your zip code is used to show races in your area and to display the distance of races from your location. Your name, date of birth, gender, and zip code can be viewed by other SODIrace users. We do not share your name, date of birth, gender, or zip code with third parties.
Activity Data From Connected Devices and Apps:
We collect activity data shared with us from connected devices and apps to determine whether you have competed in a race and data associated with race attempt. This activity data may include heart rate, power, and other fitness data, as well as your location, time, and speed during the activity. We do not store any data not associated with a race attempt. We only collect data from connected devices after you have given us permission by connecting SODIrace to your device or providers of your activity data.
Race, Team, and Athlete Information:
We collect data on what races you have created, are registered for, or are tracking. This information is used to determine what privileges you have over race data and which races your activity data should count as a race attempt.
We collect data on what teams you have created, are a member of, or are tracking. This information is used to determine what privileges you have over team data and which races your activity data should count as a team race attempt.
We also collect information on which athletes you are tracking.
Race, team, and athlete information is viewable by other SODIrace users. We do not share race, team, or athlete information with any third parties.
Bravos:
We may collect data on what Bravos you receive for race attempts and what Bravos you give to other athletes on SODIrace.com. This data is used to build community within SODIrace and is not shared with third parties.
Other Activities on sodirace.com:
We collect data on when and what actions you perform on SODIrace.com. This information is stored in a log file. This data is used to improve our services and debug issues. We do not share this data with any third parties or other users.
Payment Information:
We do not collect credit card information. All payments are sent directly to Stripe over an SSL connection to be processed. Stripe is a PCI compliant payment processing company.
Cookies:
We use cookies to determine if the user is logged in to SODIrace.com and who that user is. We do not use third-party cookies, and we only use cookies for essential purposes.
IP Addresses:
We store the IP addresses of users in a log file. These IP addresses are used for debugging security purposes only. We have no intention to use IP addresses to identify the user of the IP address.
HOW WE PROTECT AND STORE INFORMATION:
We protect your information by using industry-standard secure encrypted SSL (Secure Socket Layer) communication throughout the site. All Credit card data is sent over this secure connection and is never stored in our databases.
All passwords are hashed and salted before storing, making it practically impossible for your passwords to be revealed in the unlikely event that our databases are compromised. Furthermore, it would be practically impossible for hackers to use rainbow tables or brute force methods to guess your password.
All information is stored in secure databases. The sign-in credentials for the databases are never shared with any third parties.
While we take many precautions to protect your data, we cannot guarantee your data’s security. We will do everything in our power to reduce the likelihood of any data leakage or other data compromisation.
UPDATES TO THIS POLICY:
We may update this policy at any time at our sole discretion. After any updates to this policy, we will promptly send an email to the emails associated with each SODIrace user, notifying them of the change and linking to the updated privacy policy. Any changes will become effective upon our posting of the revised Privacy Policy. The effective date of the latest Privacy Policy can be found on the “Effective Date” legend found at the top of this Privacy Policy.
LEGAL AND OTHER DISCLOSURES:
In general, we do not share any personal data with third parties. However, we may disclose personal data about you to others if one of the following conditions are met: We have your consent to do so; We must share the data to comply with a subpoena, legal order, court order, legal process, or other legal obligation; It is necessary to pursue legal remedies or defend legal claims.
CHILDREN UNDER THIRTEEN:
Children under thirteen years old should not provide us with any personal information. If we discover that we have received personal data of a child under the age of 13, we will make efforts to delete this data as soon as possible.
DELETION OF DATA:
If you request for your personal information to be deleted from our databases and log files, we will promptly delete all data associated with your account. We may keep some data associated with your account to comply with the law, prevent fraud, collect fees, resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems, or assist with investigations.
